Saturday Afternoon: A unique feature of the Institute is an hours’ talk-cum-discussion on some aspect of life totally unconnected with medicine. On Saturday afternoon, this effort is made to let the faculty and the residents meet persons from different walks of life and have discussion with them on a variety of subjects - ranging from music to politics to meditation.

He talked about judiciary, legislature, executive; the three components of Indian democracy and opined about the rampant corruption there. On one hand he said, India was economically ready for a big leap forward but on the other hand lack of national security, proliferation of the corrupt and a week central state structure was taking it backwards. After the lecture there was a healthy question and answer session.
