Dispensary and Central Drug Store
The Hospital Dispensary
is responsible for procurement of drugs and dressing materials. During the
year, drugs worth Rs. 357.2 lac were procured and used for 10,19,107
outdoor patients, 42,359 indoor patients., staff members and
their dependents. The medicine are distributed to the staff members
and general public in the New OPD block through six counters.
Hospital Dispensary made an arrangement for emergency purchases by
entering into rate contract with the local chemist through press tender who
offered maximum discount i.e 21% on MRP. Out of the total expenditure, drugs
worth Rs. 59.8 lac were purchased through rate contract which were either
out of stock or not on the approved list of PGI but prescribed which were
purchased out of the Poor Patient Fund and National illness Assistance Fund
(NIAF) through rate contract. This department provided round the clock
services to the Hospital and dispensed some preparations which were
not available otherwise in the open market. In-service training was imparted
tom all the Pharmacists for 4 weeks. |
