Telemedicine to Rural areas of Rajasthan

           Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER) Telemedicine Centre, headed by Prof. Meenu Singh participated in a big way through Telemedicine in the largest medical camp organized in Ajmer, Rajasthan on 11-12th Feb 2012. The specialists, Dr. Meenu Singh, Dr. Arun Bansal, Dr. Aarushi Gahlot from the department of  Pediatrics,  Dr. Vikas Suri, Dr. Arjun  and  Dr Anchin from the department of  Medicine,  Dr. Ankur Gupta from the department of Cardiology, Dr. Pinaki Dutta  and  Dr. Prem  Kumar from the department of  Endocrinology,  Dr. Seema Chopra  and Dr. Reenu Jain from the department of Obst & Gynaecology,  Dr. Sunil  Chaudhary and Dr. Indresh from  the  department of  Ophthalmology, Dr. Shailesh Gupta from Telemedicine Centre  gave their expert opinion ( Live Consultations) from PGIMER Telemedicine Centre to the various patients registered at  the Medical Camp at Ajmer. Dr. Atul Jindal from the department of Pediatrics PGIMER, Chandigarh was stationed at Ajmer site to facilitate the interaction between the patients at Ajmer and the faculty at PGIMER, Chandigarh. The Telemedicine camp was a huge success as more than 250 consultations were given live and it was a very satisfying experience for both the specialists at PGIMER and the patients at the remote end in Ajmer. The Tele-consultations provided will be further analysed for their quality and benefits and accordingly suitable improvements would be suggested.
