Notice PGIMER offers services for the prevention and management of bedsore at home: Invitation for recruitment in the trial A project entitled ‘Quality Care Audit of Old Age Homes of Chandigarh and Comparative Efficacy of Intervention for Inmates and for Community Based Bedsore Prevention and Management of Bedridden Elderly’ was sanctioned by DST-TIE New Delhi (2010-2013). In the second phase of the project, a clinical trial on bedsore care will be done by the investigators. This will involve enlisting the bedridden patients in Tricity Chandigarh. The project team will provide their services to these patients and their families to prevent and treat bedsores. This will be supported by distributing a booklet on the prevention and management of bedsore to the families included in the study. Along with this the caregivers and the patients will be provided one to one training on prevention and treatment of bedsores. No charges will be levied for these services. The cost of care will be borne through the project funds (except for the material cost). General public can get this book from HKT Publishers, Chandigarh. Interested persons/families may contact the undersigned for registering themselves in the study. Cases will be recruited after screening them for inclusion criteria.
